An underrated artist that you knew but forgot: Sub Urban

I am personally so hyped to write about Sub Urban because I really love his music. However, he is really underrated so I wanted to write about him and make him more recognized. But first let me explain who Sub Urban is. 

Sub Urban, as his birth name Daniel Virgil Maisonneuve, was born on October 22, 1999;  he is an American singer, songwriter, and producer known for his dark, alternative pop music. He gained a lot of fame with his 2019 viral hit "Cradles" and he was recognized for his otherworldly music, unique visual aesthetic, and producing work for other artists like Bella Poarch. So as you can understand he was quite popular in 2019 with his song Cradles and Bella Poarch being an successful influencer made him pretty famous. At that time, everybody was dancing and making videos with Cradles. The single reached No. 1 on Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart. After this single he released an album named Thrill Seeker. Some of the songs there were also a hit but not quite as Cradles. Then, in 2022 he released HIVE, another album but none of his songs were a hit even thought he collaborated with well-known artists like Aurora which know from here song ‘’Runaway’’. Then suddenly he disappeared on social media and stopped releasing music. Personally, I was so bummed that he was gone because I really found his music interesting and fun. Sure, it’s not everybody's cup of tea but I still really liked his music. However, after 3 years of no music, he finally made a comeback with his new single Skinny Loser in 2025. Now he is releasing music actively. His newest projects are his new singles 555 and Mercury and his two new albums If Nevermore and If Nevermore  (Anhedonia). So, I am quite happy that he is back in the music industry and I'm sure that he will be dropping really good music in the future too. So, if you are looking for a new artist to listen, I would definitely give him a go. But as I said, his music is quite weird because he makes horror type music but it wouldn’t hurt to give it a go.
