THE HISTORY OF MASCARA

Mascara is indispensable for many people among makeup materials right now. Although it's a usual thing for us right now, the way it first appeared is a little different.


MASCARA IN ANCIENT EGYPT

The first traces of the use of mascara, M .D. dates back to ancient Egypt around 3000. The ancient Egyptians invented it to emphasize their beauty and make their eyes look bigger and more attractive. The Egyptians used it not only for aesthetic reasons but also to protect their eyes and protect them from evil spirits. For them, mascara was not only a beauty product but also part of a mysterious ritual.




MASCARA IN THE VICTORIAN ERA

1. when we come to the middle of the century, the history of mascara has reached an important turning point. The Victorian era was a period when mascara moved closer to its modern version and led to a significant change in women's beauty routines. During this period, women began to use specially produced mascaras to make their eyes look more attractive and large. These mascaras, designed specifically to make eyelashes look fuller and darker were responding to the beauty standards of that era. Women enjoyed using mascara to make their eyes look more defined and increase their attractiveness. However, the mascaras of that period were quite different from today's mascara. It was usually found in solid form and powder form. These powdered mascaras are applied with special brushes and give the eyelashes more volume while at the same time giving a pronounced black color. Women used to make an effort to highlight their eyes dramatically by using mascara.




The mascara that first appeared under the brand name was made by Williams in 1913 for his sister Mabel. This old mascara was obtained by mixing charcoal powder with Vaseline. In 1917, when the product he tried on Mabel became a success, Williams started selling his new product by mail. Her company Maybelline, named after her sister, has become one of the leading companies in cosmetics.


Mascara was available only in lump form, and it was produced from Brazilian wax with colorants. Users would wet the brush and rub it on the lump, then apply this to their eyes. The modern tube and rod did not come out until 1957, this way of use came from Helena Rubinstein. The events that led to the development of Helena, 20. It began in Paris at the beginning of the century. In Paris, the capital of fashion, mascara was rapidly gaining popularity and widespread use. Elizabeth Arden and Helena Rubinstein, two giants of the American beauty industry, watched and followed its development. After the First World War, American consumers became enthusiastic about new products. Sensing an opportunity, both Helena and Elizabeth launched their own cosmetic brands, which included mascara. Thanks to the efforts of these two rivals and the public temperament, mascara finally gained respect and acclaim in American society.
