Ever have the feeling like you're going to sit down and do homework or read a book, and your phone rings, your friends are chatting, and a million other things are vying for your attention? Don't worry, you're not alone! It's so difficult to focus when there's so much else that's trying to get your attention. In this blog we are going to "discuss how can we stay focused in a world full of distractions?"
Notifications:

Think of a senario: you're trying to finish your 4 paragraph essay homework, suddenly a notification appears of a friend that just sended you a really funny cat video. Then, you became annoyed and thought about blocking all notifications now everything is quieter. As you can see switching off notifications on your phone and computer is an absolute game-changer. All those small buzzes and alerts are like tiny distractions that shatter your focus. Make sure to put your phone on silent or even out of the room when you're trying to concentrate

Comfort Zone:
Think of a quiet place where you're actually going to be able to concentrate. You could have an empty corner in your bedroom, the school library, or just a small corner at the kitchen table. Ensure you've got everything organised as well as having all the things you might need like water, coffe, couple of snacks, maybe your favorite drink close by so that you're not constantly getting up and down. Keep in mind that it would be better if you had at least two or more of these comfort zones so that when you are unable to use it due to variety of reasons like your school library gets under maintenence, you always have a backup.
Multitasking:
You might feel like a super-productive superhero by trying to do homework while texting friends and listening to music at the same time. It might feel like you're getting a lot done, right? But it's accually quite the opposite because our brains aren't actually built to do lots of things that need our attention all at once. Think of it like attempting to read a book and have a conversation simultaneously. You'll catch a few words of the book, and you'll hear a little bit of what the person is saying, but you won't get either one very well. You'll end up needing to have them repeat themselves, or back up and reread the page.
Conclusion:
Remaining focused in the world today can be difficult. By experimenting with these tips and discovering what works best for you, you can become alot better at becoming and staying focused to accomplish your goals.
